Andrew Moore – Director
Andrew is a Director of CCJ and has worked for the company for over 30 years, being responsible for the management of a diverse range of projects. Project responsibilities include team management, client liaison, quality assurance, master planning, concept design, design development, construction documentation and administration. He has a wide range of experience on a number of educational, commercial, industrial and laboratory projects for both the private and government sectors. Andrew specialises in complex projects, education, security and acoustic requirements. Specific relevant project examples include Commonwealth Place as part of the construction documentation team, Temporary Accommodation for the National Portrait Gallery within Commonwealth place western wing, works at Barton college, Majura Winery and the ANU.
Andrew is a registered Architect in the ACT, NSW and Victoria.
Dr Kevin Miller – Director
Kevin specialises in design concepts, presentation and detail documentation. He leads the company in the incorporation of ESD principles into buildings and has designed and delivered a wide of projects during the 28 years at CCJ. This has culminated in a number of Architectural and Environmental Awards and Ratings for excellence including the Canberra Medallion for the Ainslie Village Redevelopment, Sustainable Architecture Award & National MBA Energy Efficiency Award for the Ian Ross Building, 6 Star Green Star rating and Banksia Award for the refurbishment of Trevor Pearcey House, 6 Star Green Star rating for CIT Sustainable Skills Training Hub, Commendation for Sustainable Architecture for the Burgmann Chapel and Heritage Award for the Florey building. Specific relevant project examples include The Link building at Strathnairn (Arts & Community centre), refurbishment of the Tuggeranong Arts centre, Birrigai Outdoor Education Centre, Rural House for ACT Rangers, interpretive graphic installations and artwork integration within the Florey and Robertson buildings at the ANU.
In addition to the experience above Kevin has just completed a doctorate which includes research on site specific art, environment and community health.
Kevin is a registered Architect in the ACT and is an accredited Green Star professional.
Vahan Hekimian – Director
With over 30 years experience and 15 years with CCJ, Vahan has expertise in all aspects of architectural practice covering a broad range of building types including Health, Educational and Community, Commercial and Retail Developments, Heritage Buildings Refurbishments and Commercial fitout work. He leads the technical side of CCJ with experience in complex refurbishments of existing buildings. This culminated in the Heritage awards for the Florey building at the ANU. Specific relevant project examples include the refurbishments of both the Robertson Building and the Florey Building at the Australian National University. These projects included public areas for display of “science on show”, seminar and meeting rooms, break out spaces, office areas, staff common facilities including large gathering areas, specialist laboratory spaces, specialist storage spaces, loading docks and associated maintenance workshops. The administration building for Earth Sciences is also another relevant example which included large seminar spaces, office accommodation and a specialist rock storage area.

Jennifer Witheford – Director
Jennifer has worked for CCJ for nearly 10 years. Jennifer has worked on a number of Educational, Community & Commercial projects including The Link at Strathnairn, Burgmann Anglican School, Canberra Institute of Technology, the Forde Village Centre and Tuggeranong Arts Centre. She has also had a wide range of experience with interior fitouts including projects for the Australian National University, Department of Defence, the CIT Student’s Association, and the ACT Department of Education & Training. Jennifer has built up an extensive experience in material reuse, selection and indoor environment quality as well as practical experience with the GBCA’s Green Star rating tools. Her attention to detail was recently rewarded with Heritage awards for the Florey building at the ANU. Specific relevant project examples include the refurbishments of both the Robertson building and the Florey building at the Australian National University. These projects included public areas for display of “science on show”, seminar and meeting rooms, break out spaces, office areas, staff common facilities including large gathering areas, specialist laboratory spaces, specialist storage spaces, loading docks and associated maintenance workshops. Jennifer also worked on the interpretive static heritage installation within the Florey building providing design and documentation for the reinvigoration of existing Fred Ward furniture and reinterpretation of existing artefacts.
Jennifer is an accredited Green Star professional.
Kathryn Varlet – Associate
Kathryn has been with the CCJ team over 3 years and has more than 10 years experience in the Construction Industry as an Interior Designer.
Kathryn has a well-developed understanding of the design process with continuous involvement in all aspects of design; from brief development, strategic facility planning, concept creation, design development, materials and furniture selection, through to final design resolution, presentation, scheduling, specifying and documentation. Her involvement includes both small-scale and large-scale commercial, healthcare and government fitouts, involving complex staging of building works within occupied buildings. Recent projects include The Link building at Strathnairn and the Robertson building refurbishment. Kath possesses excellent communications and organizational skills and recognises the importance of clear communication and risk mitigation in the delivery of a successful project.
